Our lore: The journey began in 2021, a friend who was moving cross-country had rehomed some of her collection to us. This was our first introduction to a houseplant that wasn’t a pothos. As we adjusted to becoming new plant parents and discovered the meaning of “bright indirect light," only one of three plants survived - a snake plant named Nagini. But not to worry, Nagini now has 300+ friends and is thriving in the greenhouse!

The house began to overflow with every new plant Tom would bring home from the nurseries. The house was constantly changing to make room, eventually overtaking our dining room and spilling into the rest of the house. Running out of space for our growing indoor jungle, we moved to planning out a greenhouse which paved the way for much larger and plentiful plants.

As plans evolved from a small 6 x 8 greenhouse from Amazon to transforming and enclosing our covered patio, so did our dreams. One day we had a thought, why not blend Tom's passion for house plants and Megan's dream of starting a business?  Using a play on our last name and this dream, the name Swigs & Twigs was born! 

We dream of one day opening a plant shop and cafe combo where anyone can relax amongst the greenery year-round. We hope to share this dream with our community, friends, and fellow entrepreneurs. As they helped bring our dream to life whether it be with skills, knowledge, or support.
